Building Materials Production and Natural Stone Winning
The sector of Group companies producing building materials is a challenging field of our business. Building materials production is a globally developing branch, where new materials and techniques are being created and introduced constantly. In addition, many building materials that are not already considered something of a novelty abroad are still unknown and unusual for Ukrainian customers. Traditionally, the main activities of our companies are: Brick and tile production; kaolin, building stone and granite winning, its processing and sale. The structural divisions of our Group produce high-quality and competitive products. As the companies have their own raw materials base, they are able to meet the requirements of Dara Group building companies on timely basis. This branch is represented by:

- Ukrainian/Cypriot Production and Trade JSC “Kometa”.
Korosten Brick Plant Ltd.
The main activities of the plant are: clay and kaolin winning; production of ceramic blocks, brick, tile and other annealed clay products, as well as their sale.
Currently, the plant is in the process of obtaining a loan for expansion of its production.
The brick produced by the plant is designed for exterior and interior wall blockwork and covering, as well as fo industrial chimneys laying. It was used by housing development, construction of community infrastructure and facilities, as well as industrial facilities in Lviv, Rostov, and Kherson Regions, Crimea Republic, Krasnodar Territory and Ingushetia. With experimental clinker brick, the footpaths on the Vladimir Gorka in Kiev were paved. According to their specifications, ceramic blocks of Korosten Brick Plant Ltd. excel all existing building materials on the market, which will in prospect cause increase in demand. In Ukraine, such a product has not been produced yet, but it has been imported from Germany.
Sofiya-Granit CJSC
The main activity is winning and processing of ornamental and building stone, as well as its sale.
According to its physical-mechanical properties and ornamentality, Ukrainian granite is considered one of the best in the world. Its deposits in Ukraine constitute 40% of global resources. Sofiya-Granite CJSC excavates the Sofiyevskoye granite mine.
The quarry produces granite blocks of I to IV groups.
It manufactures the following products:
- pitch-faced granite paving blocks of 100*100*100 and 100*100*50
- edging БН-1
- granite rubble of various fractions.
Ukrainian/Cypriot Production and Trade JSC “Kometa” (Krivoy Rog)
has been engaging in winning and processing of granite since 1989, owns six granite quarries for winning of stone granite and two plants for granite processing.
Namely:
1. Stone processing plant in Krivoy Rog with production capacity of 50,000 m2 of finished products.
2. Complex of high-technology equipment enables to implement almost all engineering solutions used in architecture.
The plant produces: - polished facing tile, up to 10mm thick or more to order; - steps and windowsills with profiled edges and anti-sliding stripes; - plinths with heat-treated surface; - tables and table tops for kitchens and bathrooms, balusters, columns, etc.
According to their specification, all products meet international requirements, are certified and have natural stone radiation control passports. In addition, Kometa excavates three granite quarries, namely: Pokostovskoye and Torchinskoye gabbro quarries and Evdokimovskoye quarry. http://www.aokometa.dp.ua/
